in the midst of dog-snuffles and the gentle thud of bare feet pacing:] -posing I know what I'm talking about, that still...doesn't mean it won't mess everything up. It's not like I know...how to act like that...I'm not Mako!
[another anguished groan. Magnet lifts his head and looks over where the off-beat angle of Manabu slumping on what must be a bed, hunched bare back to the camera.]

Magnet makes a little racket over here on the floor with the Omni until Manabu groans and twists to scowl at him, in the middle of admonishing before double-taking at the device.]
...Wait. Wait is that--HEY!!
[Magnet darts away as Manabu dives headlong at the camera with a dismayed cry. blurry sights and fumbling sounds ensue before it's shut off.]
[It doesn't register at first what he's hearing. it catches him off guard when he realizes that his Omni is talking to him. He stops what he's doing to pick it up. He watches for a moment, confused because it's clearly Magnet in the frame, but Manabu is talking.
Manabu is definitely talking, but not talking to him.
He nearly slams the Omni down on the counter when it's clear that Manabu has noticed that the video was on, blushing as he realizes that he's been listening to Manabu's private thoughts. It takes some time, before he finally picks up the Omni again, looking sheepish into the camera.]
Manabu? Are you...there? [He asks quietly, wondering if he would actually respond.]
Manabu had just managed to collect himself, shove that offending device into his satchel again, and then the voice called out! he flinches, hesitating, debating on pretending he...isn't there.
just walk away. walk away, go get pants.

nope rush over and grab device to try and spit out an answer and choke on it when he sees it's on video life is hell]
A-aa, yeah! H-hi, hey! What? Uh, what's...wrong? Did something happen? [eyelid twitch. YEAH A DOG HAPPENED.] What's...what's up?
[Oh my, he looks frazzled. Ryunosuke hasn't quite caught on that he's without pants just yet, hopefully saving some of Manabu's dignity. He smiles gently, before he shakes his head.]
Nothing's wrong. I think I should be asking you that though. Are you okay? You seem... [He waves his hand a bit, trying to think of the right word.] I don't know.
[After a quiet moment.] I think Magnet may have accidentally put us in contact. [What a mischievous little thing.]
[it's fine. this is fine. just sitting on the floor now, hair fluffed up to give away the fluster.
at mention of Magnet, Manabu scowls, glaring over his shoulders for sight of the omen.]
That pain-in-the-ass...! [huff. he shakes his head, looking back, frowning.] Sorry...about that... N-nothing's wrong! I was-- [only...monologuing...about things...related to Ryunosuke...
he squints. which is probably why Magnet thought he was helping. so stupid.
It's all right. [Not that he heard much of his monologuing but he knew better than to bring it up and ask about it. It wasn't his place to pry in this instance, and he would let Manabu come to him with it if he felt the need to.] I'm glad that nothing is wrong, though if something is ever you know you can come to me.
[He smiles a little more, brighter at the thought at Manabu was going to call him anyway. It made his heart jump - something he is definitely going to analyze later.]
struck bashful, he looks away, scratching at the bridge of his nose.]
Uh, well, um... [GO, LITTLE BRAIN CELLS, GO!!]
Oh! Right! [he looks back, big-eyed.] Remember those books you told me about? Er, the writer-friend you helped? I think I might've found something like it, or...or the same as it? Down in the Archives. I could show you where!
You found... his books? [He blinks, a little stunned. Was that even possible? Could the Archives actually have Natsume-san's novels? He did say he was working on something but does this mean he managed to get published?]
Really? [He lights up.] I'd love to read his work if he managed to get published!
Yes, of course! [He grins.] I'd love to go with you.
I wonder what Natsume-san wrote about. I'm sure it will be quite interesting. [Considering how eccentric the man was... it had to be interesting, right?]
