[Mako and Wu did make it look easy didn't they? He doesn't know if it gets easier, or if the nerves eventually fade. What he does know is that he enjoys spending time with Manabu in whatever capacity that takes. He likes Manabu quite a bit, and he'd like to continue getting to know him in any way possible. He smiles as he's kissed back, finding himself emboldened by the action to actually kiss him on the lips.
It's not really a ghost of a kiss, maybe over too quickly by the fact that he shyly backs up once he's done it. It's ridiculous! He shouldn't be as shy as he is but this sort of affection isn't... something he's used to? Isn't something he's used to seeing in public. Maybe it was just the time period he's from - displays of affection weren't meant to be public.
[even a little kiss is a lot, especially when it's still so new; Manabu lingers in place for a couple heartbeats before remembering himself and meekly ducking his head to hide the goofy half-smile tugging on his mouth.]
